The Nelson Estate Launches Grateful Patients Program
The estate of Angelina M. Nelson and Carl Robert (Bob) Nelson is the first to contribute to the Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation through the new Grateful Patients Program. Their gift of $365,000 will go towards new equipment and to the Pulmonary Program at the San Andreas campus of Mark Twain Medical Center.
Bob and Angelina were married in Auburn and moved to San Andreas in 1947, where they became active members of the Calaveras community. He worked in the lumber industry for many years as a green stacker and later became custodian at Calaveras High School. He passed away in 2007.
Angelina, who passed away in January, 2016, worked for the Calaveras County Welfare Department for seven years and went on to serve 28 years in the Audio Visual Department of the Calaveras County Office of Education. She retired in 1983.
The Nelsons have created a lasting legacy in our community through their generous donations to community organizations, including the Mark Twain Medical Center Foundation.
Our Grateful Patients Program provides the opportunity for patients and their loved ones to specifically recognize medical expertise and acts of humankindness experienced at Mark Twain Medical Center.
